It hits the wall again. That was really poor actually. The rebound is fired somewhere into the upper tier of the N&P.
Another free kick in a dangerous area. Ben Arfa makes the most of a little tug from Bradley Johnson. Danger.
CLOSE! Good work from Leroy Fer tees up a fierce effort from Gary Hooper from range. Krul dives to make the save. That was a fantastic effort. The crowd just came alive.
CLOSE! Ameobi again, set free into the box. He cuts back to Ben Arfa who fires over. That was a let off.
RVW almost breaks through onto a scrabbly Newcastle back pass, but Krul is out fast to collect.
It's dealt with by Leroy Fer, who also blocks a rasping effort on the rebound.
Ameobi is really good at forcing corners. Here comes another one.
Ironic cheers from the crowd here as Leroy Fer wins a free kick. There haven't been many.
We'rte back under way. Remy is unharmed.
It's 0-0 here, by the way. In case you've just joined us. Newcastle have been playing some fluid stuff, utilising their three-man forward line well. City have had a couple of half chances of their own, but it's fair to say the visitors have had the better of it so far.
Remy took a Ryan Bennett knee to the jaw a little while ago. Play halted while the Newcastle man gets some treatment.
Palace have taken the lead against Hull. Puncheon with the goal.
Another corner to Newcastle.
It's defended well, though, and City have a throw-in on the right.
Ameobi forces a corner, Russ Martin deflecting his cross behind.
Ben Arfa with a rocket of a shot from range, but it's saved wonderfully by a diving Ruddy. We've needed the big man so far today.
Gary Hooper does really well to steal into the Newcastle box, but his cutback for RVW is just behind the dutchman. Newcastle break and a Remy strike rattles the City post for a second time!
City weathering a bit of a black-and-white storm here at the moment.
21' - Oh, wow. Remy crosses, it's very dangrous, right across the keeper. Ruddy does well to pounce, but it rebounds off the incoming Johnson and onto the post.
19' - Oof. City almost do themselves then, as a tame cross from Newcastle meets Bassong's standing leg and bobbles perilously towards the goal. Ruddy is there to collect, though.
17' - GREAT SAVE! Olsson loses possession in midfield. Sissoko runs down the right before his cross is met by Remy, forcing a very handy save from Ruddy in the City goal.
17' - The corner is defended well and comes to nothing.
16' - Brilliant work from Hooper on the right, who squeezes out of trouble and tees up Leroy Fer. Fer blast narrowly wide from range. But it's a corner...
14' - Newcastle attempt to do something from a long Krul free kick into the City area. It comes to nothing after a shot is placed weakly wide.
12' - Sammy Ameobi trips over the vacant aura of Russ Martin on the Toon left to win a free kick. Harsh.
12' - Ping pong! City struggle to clear this one. It's eventually out for a goal kick.
11 - Another corner after Bennett heads behind.
10' - Debuchy chases an apparent lost cause for the Toon, but does well to force a corner. The first of the game.
Fer's spreading the ball nicely so far, switching the play well.
Santon was the man fouled. The free kick is blasted straight into the wall before Debuchy fires high, high over from the rebound. Danger over.
Snodgrass conceded the free kick there. Not sure who he felled. Still...
8' - Newcastle win a free kick just outside the City box. Dangerous.
Man Utd are 1-0 up against Cardiff. RVP the scorer.
6' - Promising move for City. The ball is worked well from right to left before Pilkington skips past a defender into the box. He can't quite keep up with it, though, and it's out for a goal kick.
5' - Newcastle team up well via a series of backheals before Johnson tracks back and snuffs it out. Teams still working each other out here.
It's fair to say it's a bit damp here.
We're under way at Carrow Road! End-to-End in the first few minutes,. Newcastle threaten first, before a clever flick from Johnson sends Pilkington off into the Newcastle area. His cross is mishit and the visitors are safe.
Robert Fleck has just joined a couple of stout season ticket holders on the pitch ahead of the game. The 1992 player of the season is helping us reward our long-serving fans. Even if it's rather inclement out there tonight.
